Xeomin is a form of botulinum toxin, a protein used to temporarily paralyze targeted muscles. When injected into the facial muscles that cause frown lines, it can relax and smooth out the unwanted expression lines between the eyebrows. Xeomin is especially effective for wrinkles between the eyebrows, known as glabellar lines, but it can also correct other dynamic wrinkles caused by facial expressions, such as forehead creases and crow’s feet.
How Xeomin Works
Xeomin is a neuromodulator made of botulinum toxin type A, which can temporarily paralyze targeted muscles. Xeomin works by blocking the release of a chemical called acetylcholine, which is responsible for muscle contractions.
When the muscles can’t contract, the wrinkles and lines caused by those contractions are smoothed out. As such, Xeomin addresses the root cause of dynamic wrinkles. The effects of Xeomin can be seen within a few days.
